Biography

A native Texan-turned-New Yorker, Ms. Jones got her professional start as a Costume Designer’s assistant at the National Black Theatre in Harlem, NYC under the mentorship of Tunde Samuels and Dr. Barbara Ann Teer.    A 50-city national tour with The Acting Company II soon followed and led to more opened doors including becoming a part of the costume staff for The Public Theatre’s NY Shakespeare Festival for several years.

In addition to working in college theatres across the country, her love of children’s theatre led to professional costume work at Theatre for Young People (TYP) in Anchorage, Alaska, Perry-Mansfield Dance Camp in Colorado, Long Lake Performing Arts Camp in upstate NY's Adirondacks, and Seaside Musical Theatre in Florida.  Select shows she has costume designed Lend Me a Tenor, The 39 Steps, Night of the Iguana, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, Flyin’ West, The Bald Soprano, Good Night Desdemona,  Les Liaison Dangereuses, The Fantasticks, She Loves Me, and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown among many others.
